The Food in Albuquerque (for real this time)

By Amy

So blogger finally decided to let me upload some pictures. The day we arrived in Albuquerque we went to lunch at the Elephant Bar. Apparently it's a chain that only cool cities have. Omaha Nebraska is not included in the cool city club.

I ordered sushi (cooked) and shrimp and noodles soup. It was amazing. My only complaint was that there wasn't about 12 more sushi rolls. Mmmmm

Being in New Mexico we knew that we could not leave until having some awesome Mexican food. So we went here.

They had red chili's hanging in the entry.

Speaking of chili's, everywhere you go they ask if you would like red chili or green chili. On everything. Meg ordered a Philly cheese steak sandwich and they asked if she wanted green chili on it. She said no. They gave it to her anyway. Probably thought she didn't know what she was missing being from the Midwest and all. I ordered both on the side with my Mexican food.

I liked the red chili the best. Which tasted like the most amazing enchilada sauce you have ever eaten. The green chili was good to. A little spicy for me but good flavor.

We went to a place called Weck's for breakfast. HUGE portions. Excellent food. I would have taken pictures but by that time I think my comrades were a little tired (embarrassed) of me taking pictures of my food. Next time I will not be intimidated! I will bring you more pictures of food! Because I know that is the only reason why you read this blog in the first place. (:

The food in Albuquerque

By Amy

Sorry I've been a bad blogger. That's my sisters job usually. Ha ha. Just been busy with the usual. Housework, paperwork, workwork. Speaking of work-work....I went in today to spot check my bosses house before a party and in my cabinet (where I keep my purse and stuff) was three HUGE yellow onions. I asked her where it came from and she said that as a Thank you from someone they sent her ten Texas yellow onions. They were really from a Texas farm and they are almost the size of Texas. Probably four times bigger then your average yellow onion. You may think it's a strange gift but when you have everything already....people have to pay attention and listen hard for gift ideas. She probably went to dinner with this person and she may have mentioned that it has been awhile since she had a nice yellow onion. And then....POOF! Ten arrive at her doorstep. That is the way things work around there. Anyway, she said there was no way they could eat all of them. So she shared them with me. Which happens very very frequently. Almost everyday I cart home some sort of "castaway." But the beauty of this is that I NEVER know what I will be the recipient of. It could be anything from leftover food to a Kate Spade purse. I will tell you one thing though, I am grateful for everything. Onions and all.

Ok I just tried to download some pictures of what this post was suposed to be about. And blogger won't let me. Hmmm....so I guess you will have to wait to see pictures of the food I ate in Albuquerque. Now try not to hold your breath because I know you were all just DYING to see pictures of food. In Albuquerque. Let me just type that one more time. Albuquerque. Because no matter how many times I type it....it just doesn't feel right. I have to really think about how to spell it every time. What's wrong with Albaqerkey. Or Albukerky. Albuquerque looks like a weird french word. Now I'm really rambling. I'll try again tomorrow. I know you will be up all night just waiting for the next post. Ha ha.

I blinked and it was over

By Amy

Sorry for the lack of post. It was a whirlwind trip to Albuquerque and when I got back I was thrown into life full force. Anyway, Meg and I left on Saturday and Ang picked us up. It was soooo good to see her. We shopped and ate lunch at a fabulous restaurant. Of course I am planning a post just the food. More on the food later. Of course I took pictures of the food. Surprised? Don't you know me at all?!! (: That night we went on a tram up the Sandia Mountains. The view was so pretty.

It was a little windy. Check out my hair.

We had a drink at the bar that was on the top and watched the sun go down. It was beautiful.

And can I just say here, that I love my camera? This next picture wasn't edited at all.

Sunday was my sister's reception which was really nice. Her hubby has a amazing group of friends. And they have welcomed my sister with open arms. Of course, it's my sister. Who wouldn't love her? (:

I better start dinner. Just wanted to let you all know that I am back and had a great time even though it was to short of a trip. More details later....

I'm off!

By Amy

Tomorrow I leave for Albuquerque to see my sissy! It's a short trip. I come home on Monday. But I don't care. We are going to have fun!

You know I can't post without a picture or two. My friend just dropped off a CD of pictures that she took at the wedding. These next photo's crack me up. It sums up my new brother-in-law perfectly!

Can't you just hear him laughing! Or giggling is more like it. I can say that now that we are related. (:

I do believe he is going to eat her fingers. Or her whole hand!
There are three things I like about this next photo:

1) It shows the beauty of having a small wedding at a home. The boys (men) can play a little B-ball after the ceremony.
2) My gorgeous tree. Perfectly in bloom.
3) My son. Who was told over and over again that he must NEVER! EVER! use my camera without putting the strap around his neck. BUSTED!!!!!
I hope you all have a good weekend!

Random

By Amy

It's been a nice Saturday so far. Which means I have done absolutely nothing. I do have plans to clean a little. And plant some flowers. So I won't be completely worthless today. Here's a few pictures from Thursday night and today.

A storm was brewing. I love looking at clouds.

My cat had about as full of day as I have had today. She spent a good 15 minutes scratching her back on the pavement.

All my boys went golfing today.

And I took a nap. Ok, time to get busy. On a side note I'll be taking a little blogging break over the next few days. As you can see from this post....I've got nothing interesting to say. Maybe I'll come up with some new and exciting material!!! Ha Ha. OR better yet, maybe Ange will post a big fat blog with loads of pictures from Hawaii. And if not, you'll be hearing from me again sometime next week. See you then!

Waiting

By Amy

It's been 5 whole days since I have spoke to my sister. It feels really weird! But I have been a good girl. I have not called or texted. I have emailed but I told her not to email me back. I have recieved one phone picture from her.

Beautiful isn't it! I'm sure they are having the time of there lives. It's weird not to worry about her anymore. Everyday I have to stop myself from wondering if she is ok. If she is sad. If she is depressed. I felt like her keeper for so long.....it's kind of hard to give up that role. I can't tell you how many times I had to choke down tears because of her sadness. It filled me up sometimes.

When she told me that she met Josh I was floating with happiness for her. When she told me she would be moving to New Mexico....I panicked. Like my heart raced and I had shortness of breath kind of panic. That wasn't in MY plans! How could she do this to ME! Didn't she need ME! What was I supposed to do without HER! Then I stopped thinking about me. And thought about her. My life is full. Hers was half empty. And Josh needed her more. Needed her more then I did. And I don't think I really saw that until the wedding. When they were ready to leave the house.....Josh was outside waiting and she was telling everyone goodbye. Then all of the sudden there is Josh on the other side of my screen door with his face all smashed up on it looking at her with puppy dog eyes. You should have seen it. It was really funny. But it finally sank in that he needed her and she needed him and I would just have to get on with it. And a tiny part inside of me was glad when I saw that she was crying on there way to the hotel. She still needs me. Just from a distance. I think I'm able to let go and hold on at the same time. And I'm starting to be ok with that.
