Monkey Business

By Amy

I think the shower was a success. Lots of guest, gifts, food and a happy mom-to-be. Here are some pics.
Invites
I borrowed all the tables and chairs so I didn't have to rent anything. Whoohoo!

Cheap center pieces. Fake grasses, m & m's, monkey and banana clip art.

I had about seven "monkey" phrases hanging up.

The favors were little banana chocolate chip breads which I made a few weeks before and froze them.

See the gal standing up? That would be my good friend Megan. She saved me with her awesome serving skills.

Cute mom -to -be opening gifts.

Yummy banana split dessert

I made a blanket cake. First attempt so don't judge.

The casts of characters. Could I BE any whiter?

It was fun to plan and I think everyone had a great time. It's alot of work but totally worth it.

Girls Night In

by Ang

Every other Friday I have some alone time. My husband plays cards with his buddies and I order take-out, put on my pjs, make hot tea, and just.....veg.

Tonight I'm not sure what the plan is. I may watch this: Or this:

Or one of these:

I may knit too. I've been knitting a lot more lately and I want some nice scarves for fall!

I'm off to enjoy my evening of knitting and movies. :) Hope you have a good weekend!

Catching Up

By Amy

I'm still here! Things are slowing getting caught up around here. Which is good because on Saturday I'll have a house full of women. Here is a few miscellaneous pictures from my week away from the blog.
Our girl Ginger got her lady parts removed about a week ago. This is the night after surgery. She is sitting kind of funny. Poor thing.
The following day I tackled this huge pile of ironing! Mission accomplished.
While Nebraska got pounded by Texas last Saturday, I took some kids swimming. This one is mine.
Ginger again. Fully healed!
I've been in search for the perfect butter dish. One that was wide and cute. I finally found one! DOLLAR TREE!
I got my desk cleaned off!!!
This picture is on my desk and it's my favorite. Darren's button says "I'm the Big Brother." It makes me teary everytime I look at it.
I'll end with this picture of Ginger. That dog. She frustrates me and make me smile.
I won't be posting again until next week. Hopefully it will be about a successful baby shower!

Up

by Ang

We just spent 5 wonderful days with my Mom, Dad and Grandma. We had such a good time. One of the highlights of their visit was the International Balloon Fiesta here in Albuquerque. It was breathtaking an beautiful and just plain fun. I will blog about their whole visit, but I thought the balloons deserved a post of their own.

It doesn't look like much when you first arrive. It's way early (before 7:00), it's cold, and you're kind of wondering why you got up at the crack of dawn to see...this?

But then....

And then....(hi Dad!)

And.....wow

Why are there storm troopers here?

Oh....

It was a great time and I know why it's the most photographed event in the world!
