Just a Few Pictures....

By Amy

.....from the busiest week so far this summer. In a nutshell, I had the family over for a cook-out, picked up a few extra kids for a couple of days and learn that our puppy is a natural swimmer.

I am really ready for vacation on Saturday. I will post when we get there.

Temporary background

by Ang

Hi everyone....

I got a message the other day from our blog background provider stating that we had to pick a new one - I guess the one we were using was going to be removed from their website.

So I just picked a temporary one until our blog makeover is complete! It will do.

Two Weeks

By Amy

I've got two weeks before we leave for vacation. When we get back I'll have two days at home before I am gone again for another week with my boss. So basically I have two weeks to get four weeks in order. Does that make since?
At the moment I am watching two extra boys for the next five days. I have five doctor's appointments (me and the boys) between now and when we leave. I have a new puppy who we cannot leave alone for even two seconds or she will destroy something or pee on the carpet. I have a boss who needs me to work. Imagine that! The point is.....you may not be hearing from me much.
Even though I have alot to say! The puppy, who is a terror at times, is growing. And adorable. My blank white board that I started at the beginning of the summer (remember the snarky comment my boy said?) is almost full. My parents, Grandma, bro, sis-in-law and my pig-tailed niece are coming on Saturday. I would like to say it's to see us but I know they can't wait to see the puppy. (: I have so many projects that I would like to blog about but I haven't started any of them yet.
Is this how everyone's summer's are? Or is it just mine? I feel like I'm so busy I can't breathe. But for the most part it's a happy busy. Although there are some days when I dream of being 15 again. Sleeping in till noon, slipping on a swimsuit, using four extension cords on my radio so that it would reach outside to my lawn chair, laying out till three. At around four deciding to look at the list that mom left us to get done before she got home at.....4:15. OOPS!! I know for a fact that my kids do the exact same thing.
I'm sorry I don't have any pictures to post. My computer isn't hooked up at the moment so I'm on my husbands. He has some pictures but they are mainly of cars. Hang on, let me look around.........

He's got nothing. So I guess this is it for now. Sorry to disappoint! If I get a bit of time the next few days maybe i'll post something brilliant! Don't count on it though. (:

$6 Buys a Lot of Cuteness

by Ang
We have roses in our backyard. They are deep pink and soooooo pretty. I only had one little bud vase at home, so today after work I went to Target and bought 8 new bud vases for a grand total of.....$6.

Sure, they're small, but they're so cute! And now I can have roses all over our house.

We have one kitty who likes to pull off the petals with her teeth. But so far, she hasn't noticed the roses yet, so we'll be able to keep them around for a while. :) The best $6 I've spent in quite a while!

Baby it's hot outside

by Amy

The title really has nothing to do with this post. I just wanted you to know it's around 95 with crazy humidity. As in hard to breathe-the-air-is-so-thick humidity. However I cannot complain because I am inside breathing in a cool, comfortable 70 degree air. My poor husband is working in this. On a roof no less. And my poor bro and sis-in-law. They are getting a new air conditioner as I type this. The old one pooped out on them.

I was going to complain about some stuff. Dirty house, smelly dog, bills and lazy kids. I decided not to. Instead here are some misc pictures of our Colorado trip. They are alot funner (funner?) to look at then hearing me complain.

Papier

by Ang
Last year when we were in Paris, I picked up lots of postcards, cards, stationary, etc. Paris is known for it's beautiful paper, and it did not disappoint.
I came home with a stack like this: (it's bigger than it looks)

All this time they have been stored safely in a large envelope. But lately I've been missing Paris. I miss my sister and I miss Megan, and when I think of the three of us together, I think of Paris. So I thought it was about time I displayed some of my beautiful treasures.

One of my favorites was a no brainer as far as what to do with it.

It says 'Pour toi, douceur et detente', which translates to 'For you, softness and relaxation'. I framed it and put it in our guest bathroom. The colors matched perfectly. And our guest bathroom is our only bathroom with a tub, so I actually use it occasionally when I feel the need for a bubble bath!

I then divided the rest into color and black and white. I wasn't quite sure what to do with the color ones that I had. So I picked out 2 of my favorite color cards and took them to work today:
Side note: See the rose? My husband snipped it this morning from our backyard and put it in my lunch that he packed for me. Isn't he sweet???

So then I was left with my black and whites.

I had probably 15. I picked out my 6 favorites and wanted to frame them. Off to Target we went. Hubby picked out the frame, and this is how it turned out:

It's hard to tell in the picture, but it has a 3D effect. It looks much better in person. I love it!

Here's a few close ups of my favorites....

Women. Leisurely talking at a Parisian cafe. Just like we did!

And this one...the Eiffel Tower in progress...

And this one...little kids which I can only assume are on a field trip. It's adorable!

I still have a few that I'm not done with. Like this one, which is my absolute favorite:

I'm going to find a pretty frame and put it on my desk here at home.

And these, which I think will go in our bedroom eventually:

And I STILL have some left. But I'm just going to slip those inside my Paris scrapbook. I don't want our house to be totally overwhelmed by Paris memorabilia. My husband and I plan to travel a lot, so I have to leave room for mementos from our other adventures! (we're hoping Ireland is next!)
It's nice to look at these little touches I have around the house and be reminded of Paris. But more importantly, to be reminded of Amy and Megan and the amazingly indescribable time we had together. I miss them so much!
