Brrrr......

By Amy

This is what has been going on here.

On another note, we traveled to my brothers house yesterday and got to spend time with little miss A! And the rest of the family of course too. (:

The next few day's are going to be busy. We have some family coming in and the boys are coming back! Postings will be few! And our internet is down at home. Had to drag my laptop to work to do this and catch up on a few things. See ya in a few days!

What We Have Been Up To

By Amy

In the midst of all the craziness that December brings, we decided to drive to another country and return home in three days. Sound crazy? It was! My mom-in-law lives in Manitoba Canada. Which just happens to be 10 hours straight north of us. So on Friday after work we packed up our stuff, the kids, and most of their belongings. We drove to Fargo and spent the night. Saturday morning we crossed the border and made it to Grandma's around 12. She cried when we got there. It would have been weird if she wouldn't have because she always cries when we come. And when we leave. One of the thousands of reasons why I love her! So on Saturday we got the kids all settled and had a few hours to visit. Sunday morning we made the trip home without the kids. It isn't the most exciting drive I have taken. See for yourself.

I realize the picture quality is bad. And it would have helped if the sun would have come out for five minutes. But that's ok. It was all worth it.

See that shine in her eyes? She loves her kids. And is having a ball with her grand kids. Meanwhile we are busy.
We have two rooms torn apart and various other projects going on. After pictures coming soon!

Where Does It Go?

by Ang

The time, that is.

This baby girl is almost 8 months old.

I got to babysit her for about 7 hours on Saturday and I enjoyed every second. Even the messy diaper which required an entire outfit change. :) She is just such a doll and so much fun to be around. And I know I'm biased, but she is SUCH a great baby! She wasn't even fussy at all the whole time I was there. I kept her fed and busy and she seemed to be having a good time too.

My mom came along to keep me company. Even with her broken elbows, she was able to help me out a lot!

Little Miss A loves her Grandma:

She loves her Grandpa too:

Even when he puts things on her head:

She's such a big girl!:

Thanks for hanging out with me baby girl. I hope you had as much fun as I did!!

Things that make me feel good.....when I don't feel good.

By Amy

My drug of choice.

Staying in Pajamas all day long

A hot bowl of cream of wheat. With some cocoa added in. The way my momma used to make it.
My unmade bed. Just waiting for me.

Random

By Amy

**Work has been crazy busy. It's hard to describe what I do. I have worked for a wonderful couple for about 10 years now. I am a housekeeper/dog watcher/errand girl/secretary/door answerer/decorater/grocery shopper/ironer/and anything else they want me to do. I love it and I usually don't toot my own horn but I'm pretty good at it. I think I have mentioned before that December is the busiest month for me. Parties/overnight guest/messy messy floors/doors to answer and loads and loads of mail to open. So I'm pretty beat. You may start hearing from me less and less as the month goes on.

**This baby girl has a tooth that finally broke through!

**My poor momma was in a car accident. Some guy turned right in front of her. She broke BOTH her elbows. In the exact SAME place!! How is that even possible? The docters were even puzzled. The first few days she couldn't even feed herself.

This is my dad feeding her cereal. My mom's poor hair. A little bed headed. We fixed it later on in the day. Her movement is slowly improving. It will take about 8 to 12 weeks for her elbows to completely heal. She is trying not to freak out and make light of the situation. I'm proud of her! And thankful that she is ALIVE and that her injuries will heal.

**I'm getting a wicked sore throat. Hoping it doesn't turn into anything.

**My Grandma is just about the cutest lady ever. I can't even begin to list all the reasons why I love her. Here is one....she is the biggest Nebraska fan ever. Whenever they are playing she always wears her Husker shirt and brings her paper with all the teams names, numbers and positions.

**My brother and his wife just celebrated their fifth anniversary!! Congratulations to two people who I love very much. And thank you for giving me a beautiful neice this year. (:

Stinky Snow

by Ang

I am not a fan of winter. Or snow. Or ice. I'm not one of these people that thinks 'oh, but it's so pretty...I love just watching it snow and seeing everything covered in a sheet of white'. NO. No, no, no. Not even when I can stay inside. Today I left work at lunch and I got stuck 4 times between work and home. And I only live 6 blocks away. The plows haven't come out yet, and I just heard on the news that it could be DAYS before they even get to the side streets.
I mean, look at this poor tree:

It's buried.

As are most cars.

And the stairs to my building. (not the stairs that you can actually SEE in the picture, but the ones leading up to those stairs. You can't see them because they're covered in SNOW).

Normally, this wouldn't bother me, but since I couldn't make it up the driveway because of the SNOW, I had to park in the street. And if the snow plow comes between now and tomorrow morning, I'll get to spend my morning shoveling out my car. Yippie! Oh, and did I mention that it's only supposed to be 6 degrees tomorrow morning? I can't wait!!!

Yes, I'm being complainy (which is not a word) and negative and sarcastic. I'm only a little sorry. But I figured that those of you weirdos that LOVE snow would at least enjoy the pictures. :)

Just Forget It

By Amy

First off I just want to say how happy I am for my sissy. Doesn't she look great in the pictures in the post below this one? Just positively glowing with happiness. She deserves it ALL! Ok, onward.....
Things I Have Not Forgotten About:

1) My Rainbow Photography Project~ I am working on my reds. Probably won't post them until I get 10 or so.

2) My goal I set in October~ Remember? When I challenged my self to get fit, eat better and lose weight? And I even posted my weight for all to see? My deadline was December 1st. I have not forgotten and I will post soon about that. Prepare to be severly disappointed. I am. ):

3) How much I love my family. I am reminded every single day how blessed I am to have the family that I have.

4) I have not forgotten how incredibly busy December is at work. Every November I brace myself for what comes next. I try to soak in the peace and quiet. Then it's December and somedays I literally run trying to get everything done. I go to bed every night tired to the bone. Wishing for January.

Things I Have Forgotten about:

1) How to spell Albuquerque. I swear I have to look it up every time. Why can't we spell it like it's sound? Albaqerkey. That's it. From now on I'm just going to spell it like that.

2) How good it feels to have my hair freshly cut and colored. It's been soooo long.

3) How much I love it getting dark so early. I can fool my youngest into going to bed early. Which means I get to go to bed early too.

4) That I was missing the rubber seal on my blender. Think it doesn't serve a function? Try blending a smoothie in it and you will find out very fast that it is essential.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And because I can't post without a picture, I looked up in the faithful archives to see what was going on this time of year.
Albuquerque
by Ang
I'm back! I just returned from a fabulous trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico. I had never been there before, so it was all new to me. I loved it! It is a beautiful city, with the Sandia Mountains situated just to the east of the city. Sandia means watermelon in Spanish, and is believed to reference the reddish color of the mountains at sunset. They change color throughout the day depending on the sun. It's really pretty (and a little freaky).
Like this time they look like they’re covered in snow. But they’re NOT!
I met lots of new friends & watched some football:
I relaxed:
Cruised around the city:
And spent tons of time with HIM:
Which is the whole reason I went to Albuquerque in the first place.
